MERINO WOOL

Merinos are regarded as having some of the finest and softest wool of any sheep. This wool is one of the softest types of wool available, due to finer fibers and smaller scales. Merino wool is ideal for baby's skin, because it is  absolutely unscratchy and can't to be uncomfortable for your little one.

Merino has an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio compared to other wools, in part because the smaller fibers have microscopic cortices of dead air, trapping body heat similar to the way a sleeping bag warms its occupant. Also  this wool provide comfort feeling in hot weather, because merino wool is natural body temperature's regulator, especially when worn against the skin. The wool provides some warmth, without overheating the wearer. It draws moisture (sweat) away from the skin, a phenomenon known as wicking. The fabric is slightly moisture repellent (keratin fibers are hydrophobic at one end and hydrophilic at the other), allowing the user to avoid the feeling of wetness.

Also merino wool excellent retains warmth when wet. That's why this wool is used for making athletic wear (helping wearers avoid hypothermia after strenuous workouts or weather events) and diapers (damp diaper stays at the same temperature as the body, and the baby won't feel cold even out of doors in winter).

Like most wools, merino contains lanolin which has antibacterial properties and helps to repel moisture. If you use merino wool diaper covers, you can lanolize them after washing every 3-4 weeks to maintain their waterproof qualities.

All our wool items we recommend to wash by hand, using detergent for wool, water temperature should be lukewarm (not cold and not hot) - about 30oC or 90oF. Do not tumble dry!


COTTON

Cotton is the most popular fabric and best selling fabric in the world, it is good for all seasons because it keeps the body cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Cotton clothing is great solution for all of us, and especially for small babies.

All cotton products in our shop are made from organic cotton. Organic cotton is cotton from plants not genetically modified, that is certified to be grown without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals, such as fertilizers or pesticides.

Cotton products have increased resistance to washing, you can wash cotton in washing machine.


SILK

Silk is one of the strongest and cutest natural fibers. Silk has a smooth, soft texture that is not slippery, unlike many synthetic fibers.
Silk's absorbency makes it comfortable to wear in warm weather and while active. Its low conductivity keeps warm air close to the skin during cold weather. Silk also has natural healing properties.

We recommend to wash items which contain silk by hand, using detergent for wool or silk, water temperature should be lukewarm (not cold and not hot) - about 30oC or 90oF. Do not tumble dry!
